GARIE BEACH

Another trip to Garie, and who would have thought 40 years after my first surfing trip to this idyllic spot I’d be on the beach again... on Patrol

An awesome crew turned up for our Saturday gig led by our fearless leader Rob G (some nice soft sand running Rob) and supported by the IRB team of Brad, Dan and Matt, the French connection crew - Flo and Tibo who seemed to exercise and swim all day, and the Hawkins crew Heather, Callum and me (Doug).

We were greeted by a quiet day with clouds and forecasts telling us a dreary day ahead - but as always with the South Coast who knows. The sun came out, the NE blew in and the Blue bottles arrived, look out bush walkers wanting to cool their feet!

We had visits by those smiling tourists always wanting the red and yellow happy snap, and even some “wildlife” joined us on the day. You can never can tell what might happen on patrol…

A little delayed getting back to the club house with all the gear, was it that bogged ATV I saw? surely not ..then again...anyway another day done at Garie and worth the drive - thanks to all who came.
