Bronze Medallion & Surf Rescue Certificate

course overview

This course provide participants with the skills and knowledge of basic patrolling and surf awareness in order to be able to participate in lifesaving operations. This is the core award to be a surf lifesaver at Coogee or anywhere else in Australia.

You will learn surf skills, resuscitation techniques, basic first aid, rescue techniques and much more.  The course is typically run over a six or seven week period with sessions on Tuesdays & Thursdays 7pm-9pm, Saturday 9am-11am and Sunday 11am-1pm.

Spring Bronze 


Thunder Bronze 

  • Information night for Thunder Bronze Thursday 27 September 2018 7pm @ Coogee SLSC
  • Thunder Bronze runs over two weekends 20/21 & 27/28 October 2018

applying to join a course

Information nights are held prior to the commencement of the course, and applications for each course close shortly after the information night.  A completed application form must be submitted to the Club via the link on the Bronze Course Date Summary.  Successful applicants will be advised as soon as possible after the closing date for applications.
