Welcome to Coogee Surf Life Saving Club

Coogee Surf Life Saving Club is a volunteer organisation, and was founded in May 1907. Originally called The Foundation of the Coogee Surf Life Saving Brigade, the club was formed to assist with people getting into difficulty and even drowning at Coogee Beach. The first squad went into serious training to ensure qualified lifesavers would be available on the beach in the spring of 1907.

To this day, patroling members commit to serving the community and keeping the public safe.

Our patrolling season starts in September, and goes through to April. We patrol every weekend and public holidays.

The club is also home to the Coogee Island Challenge every November and April, and Coogee Minnows, our very own nippers program.

The surf club is located at the south end of the beach and offers a real sense of community spirit. It is a great way to meet new people, support the community, keep fit and have fun.

Coogee Beach is a beautiful spot and it is sometimes hard to believe we are only 15 minutes from the hustle and bustle of central Sydney.

There are many activites to enjoy in our little slice of paradise. Spot a whale or two during migration season, see a pod of dolphins swim by, take a stroll on the coastal walk and enjoy an array of popular cafes, restaurants and pubs.
